A Sermon from: August 22, 2010
By: The Rev. Dena McPhetres
Even when we want to be left alone, the fact is that we live in a shared world — we humans are wired to connect. How do we want to share this world, and how can we teach each other how to connect in more peaceful and humane ways? Drawing on Daniel Goleman’s book Social Intelligence, I’ll explore the development of empathy, the role of mirror neurons in our brains, and the capacity we can cultivate to make socially intelligent choices.
