BOARD ANNOUNCES NEW SERVICE & R.E. TIMES FOR THE FALL

After thoughtful deliberation, input from the congregation, and help from a consultant, the Reverend Stefan Jonasson, Director of Growth Strategies and Large Congregation Development from the Unitarian Universalist Association, the Board of Trustees decided that beginning on Ingathering Sunday, September 9, 2012, rather than offering three services, Sunday services and Religious Education programs for children and youth will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m..

Religious Education offerings will include:

At 9:00 a.m. : Nursery – 7th Grade RE, 8-9 Grade Pillars, 10-12 Grade Youth Group

At 11:00 a.m.: Nursery – 7th Grade RE, 8th Grade “OWL” program

We are excited about these changes, which we believe will improve the quality of the Sunday morning experience for our members and friends, volunteers and staff. We continue to be firmly committed to welcoming new people among us, but we want to do it in a way that is more sustainable for everyone.

We understand that this change will have an impact on many groups and programs, individuals and families, so we are announcing this news in advance of our having worked out all the details. Additional details (about Children’s RE, Forum, etc.) will follow as soon as we can work them out.
