Social Justice Council Action Groups
Itching to do some hands-on work to make the world a better place? Why not join an Action Group or start a new one that addresses one of your passionate concerns?
Our new Social Justice Council, chaired by India McCanse, has the responsibility to support and oversee our entire social justice program, including new and recurring initiatives (such as the Guest At Your Table program or General Assembly Study/Action Issues), and new and on-going Action Groups. Action Groups are issue-focused, time-limited, small groups of people who want to organize to get something done to address a social injustice that they care deeply about. It could be anything from animal rights, to homelessness, to reproductive freedom, to tutoring in the public schools, to immigration reform, to you name it. Instead of joining a committee that already exists, that might not make your heart sing, why not start an Action Group?
