Visiting a new church can feel pretty adventurous to most people. We want your experience with us to be as comfortable as possible, so here’s some information that may help. Q. What does it mean to be a Unitarian Universalist?

Q. When are your services, and what are they like?
A. We hold three services – at 8:45 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. – in our sanctuary each Sunday (except during the summer months when we have one Sunday service at 10:00 a.m.). Our services begin with a musical prelude followed by singing, reading, time for meditation and a sermon. We conclude with a benediction and more music. We enjoy a great variety of musicians at our worship services, from our church choirs to classical, world music and folk performers.
Q. Will you take up a collection?
A. Yes, but we do not expect visitors to contribute. We invite you to be our guest!
Q. Where are you? Where do I park? Can I get there by bus?

Q. What should I wear to church?
A. Come as you are. Come in whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see a range: “Sunday best” to casual.
Q. Can I bring my children?
A. Religious education for youth and children is an important part of our mission and is available during all three services. In fact, our RE program is one big reason people are attracted to this church. Childcare is also available for infants and toddlers.
Q. What makes your church different from others?
A. There is no test of creed to join. Within our congregation, you’ll find diversity of belief. In our Religious Education program, we do not indoctrinate children by teaching them what they should believe. Rather, we try to spark their own curiosity about religious questions and provide them with the tools they need to make their own decisions.
Q. Will I be pressured to join?
A. Absolutely not! We know that many people prefer to church shop anonymously before they start making relationships. There’s a Guest Table in the Leenhouts Common Room where we gather for coffee and conversation after the service. Make yourself known – or not. But we all enjoy meeting our guests.
Q. Is it true that your church is accepting of gays and lesbians?
A. It’s true. As a matter of fact, we’ve committed ourselves to actively welcome gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people. That’s earned us an LGBT Welcoming Congregation designation from the Unitarian Universalist Association.
