Our Intergenerational Community
Generations Together Our commitment to being a true intergenerational community led us to form our Families Committee. This committee focuses on:
- Building community within the church
- Advocating for the inclusion of families in the larger life of the church
- Developing social concerns activities for families and children
- Building the foundation for childcare for church events and activities
- Building connections between families and children’s religious education
During the church year, the Families Committee sponsors or co-sponsors various activities, which are designed in part to allow for the development of intergenerational connections between adults, children, youth and families. These include:
- The YUULE Time Celebration in December
- "Secret Friends" in January-February
- The Annual Church Picnic in June
The committee also supports the work of the Fellowship Dinner and Annual Meeting organizers to intentionally include children in the festivities and to provide adequate childcare to facilitate the attendance of families with children.
