Speaker:
The Rev. Drew Kennedy
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2011
Transcendentalism, 175 years old this year, has been called the most distinctive intellectual movement in American history. The Reverend Ralph Waldo Emerson, a Unitarian minister, was the key spokesperson for it, and Unitarian ministers and laypersons were key to the movement. I am often asked, “So, what IS transcendentalism, anyway?” And how does it translate into today?” Today, I am happy to reply. — Drew
